THE NATURE OF THIS DEBATE IS UNKNOWN:ZUMA POTRAIT

On sunday I gave an ear to Umhlobo Wenene F.m as they interviewed three represantatives with regards to the potrait supposedly reffered to as being our "president" one came from the freedom of expression institute another from AZAPO and the last was the ANC'S PROF:Somadoda fikeni as the discussion progressed I noted how the radio presenter was welcoming comments, some were highly favoured as they expressed cliche sentiments such as that the president does not deserve to be stripped off his dignity etc while others seemed to echo unpleasant views such as that off freedom of expression it was easy to hear which ideology the radio station favoured especially when the rep from azapo was cut off for expressing views that did not represent what the station wants us to think, this ofcourse is no suprise as the station is state owned however I was suprised yesterday as I tuned in to metro fm a commercial radio station and the debate was similar but this time anc spokesperson Jackson Mthembu was present how the whole discussion was coined into the presidents favour and how irrelevant occurences such as apartheid were bought to the fore although callers expressed their views and were allowed to do so I still believe the nature of this debate is unknown,What is the outcry about? or is this just a strategy to make us forget a little about mangaung? are we now supposed to feel sorry for the president who's name is not even in the potrait,he interpreted the potrait himself there could've been a million interpretations but he gave the ones that applied most according to him.what are we to think then? propaganda is really a disease without a cure.As many o us flock and scatter choosing sides over matter and reason when will the human race learn to look beyond the surface i wonder.
